Getting started

What is Motionhooks?

Motionhooks is an AI-powered social media platform that creates professional videos and posts for businesses that do hands-on work. Instead of hiring a videographer or spending hours in an editing app, you answer a few guided questions — the AI writes the script, records a natural-sounding voice-over, generates matching visuals, adds subtitles and music, and renders a finished video sized correctly for each platform.

The platform is built around two core workflows: quick-capture, where you take photos of a completed job and turn them into a video in under five minutes; and a guided wizard, where you describe a campaign or story and the AI produces a polished multi-scene video. Finished videos are published directly to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest — either immediately or on a schedule you set.

Motionhooks is used by individual tradespeople who want to show their work online without any technical skills, and by agencies who manage content for multiple clients at once.

Who is it for?

Motionhooks is designed for two distinct groups.

The first is tradespeople and small trade businesses — painters, builders, electricians, plumbers, kitchen installers, roofers, landscapers, and anyone else who does skilled hands-on work. These users produce excellent work but struggle to document and market it online. Motionhooks lets them photograph a job, dictate a few sentences on the way home, and publish a professional video to Instagram or TikTok without any editing knowledge or equipment.

The second group is agencies and marketers — social media agencies, digital marketing teams, and freelancers who manage content for multiple clients. For this group, Motionhooks provides a full multi-client studio with separate brand kits, a content approval workflow, team collaboration, and scheduling across nine platforms.

Both groups benefit from the same core AI engine, multi-language support, and direct platform publishing. The difference is in the workflow: individual tradespeople use the fast-capture mode, while agencies use the full scenario editor with client approval gates and project management.

Content creation

How does the AI video creation work?

Creating a video in Motionhooks follows a short guided wizard. You start by choosing a video type — job showcase, service introduction, seasonal promotion, before and after, or a custom brief. Next, you fill in the details: what the video is about, which platforms it should be sized for, the tone or style you want, and any photos or clips you want to include.

From there, the AI takes over. It writes a scenario and voice-over script tailored to your industry and audience, generates a natural-sounding AI voice in the language you selected, assembles the visual sequence using your photos and AI-generated supporting visuals, adds subtitles, selects background music from a licensed library, and renders a separate version of the video in the correct aspect ratio for each platform: 9:16 vertical for Reels and TikTok, 16:9 for YouTube, 1:1 for feed posts.

The whole process takes about four minutes on average. You can review and edit the scenario or voice-over text before rendering, and after rendering you can adjust captions, swap music, or regenerate individual sections before publishing.

Can I use my own photos and clips?

Yes — your own photos and video clips are at the centre of every Motionhooks video. During the creation wizard, you upload photos directly from your phone or computer, and they are woven into the video in the sequence you choose. Short clips work the same way.

For job-showcase videos, there is a dedicated before-and-after mode: you mark which photo was taken before the work started and which was taken after, and the AI builds a reveal sequence around that comparison. This format tends to perform very well on Instagram Reels and TikTok because it shows clear, tangible results to potential customers.

Motionhooks also applies your brand automatically. Your logo is watermarked into every video, your brand colours are used in captions and overlays, and your contact information can be displayed on screen at the end. All of this is configured once in your brand kit and applied automatically from that point on — you never have to remember to add it manually to each individual video.

Can I use my own voice or presenter?

Motionhooks offers several options for the voice and on-camera presenter in your videos.

For voice-over, you choose from a library of natural-sounding AI voices that vary by gender, accent and tone. Each voice has an audio preview so you can hear it before committing. Available accents include British and American English, Dutch, German, French and others — matched to the language your video is produced in.

For on-camera presenters, Motionhooks includes a library of AI video avatars who speak parts of your video directly to camera with natural lip sync and realistic expressions. These work well for introduction segments or any section where you want a human presence without needing to film yourself.

Custom avatars trained on your own appearance are available on higher plans. This uses a short reference recording to create a digital version of you that can deliver any script Motionhooks generates — your face and voice, without standing in front of a camera for every video.

You can also upload your own pre-recorded audio: record the voice-over yourself and the AI will sync the visuals to your narration instead of generating one.

Platforms & languages

Which languages are supported?

Motionhooks supports multiple languages both for the app interface and for the content it creates.

The app interface runs in four languages: English, Dutch, German and French. You can switch the interface language in your account settings at any time.

For video content, the AI can generate scripts, voice-overs and subtitles in eight languages: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Polish. You select the output language when creating each video, so a Dutch painting company can produce videos in Dutch for local customers and also create a German version of the same video for projects across the border.

Cross-language duplication is a one-click feature: take any finished video, click 'Duplicate in another language', and Motionhooks generates a new version with a translated script and a fresh voice-over in the target language. The visuals, music and structure stay the same — only the spoken and written content changes. This is particularly useful for businesses in border regions or agencies managing multilingual clients.

Which platforms can I publish to?

Motionhooks publishes directly to nine social media platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest.

When you connect a platform to your account, Motionhooks handles the technical requirements for each one automatically. Video aspect ratios are adjusted per platform — 9:16 vertical for Instagram Reels and TikTok, 16:9 horizontal for YouTube, 1:1 square for feed posts, and the correct dimensions for Pinterest boards. Caption lengths are adapted to each platform's character limits, and hashtag handling follows each platform's current best practices.

Publishing can happen immediately or on a schedule. For each post, you can set a separate publication time per platform — for example, publish to Instagram at 08:00 and to LinkedIn at 12:00 on the same day. Motionhooks sends you a notification when each post goes live.

For agencies, platform connections are managed per client workspace. There is no risk of accidentally publishing one client's content to another client's channels, as each workspace has its own isolated set of connected accounts.

Pricing & plans

What does it cost?

Motionhooks has three plans.

The Free plan costs nothing and includes a monthly allowance of AI-generated videos, posts and images, plus access to the AI writing assistant and multi-language support. It is designed to let you try the full creative workflow without entering a credit card.

The Pro plan is billed monthly or yearly and is aimed at individual businesses and tradespeople who publish content regularly. It increases the monthly limits for videos, posts, images and AI messages, and adds features like your logo in every video, the brand kit, and advanced scheduling options.

The Agency plan is for teams managing content across multiple clients. It adds the multi-client project structure, team member seats, a client approval workflow, webhook integrations and analytics.

Top-up packs are available on all plans if you reach your monthly limit during a busy period — you purchase exactly the extra capacity you need without having to upgrade your plan. Current prices for all plans and top-ups are listed on the pricing page.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your Motionhooks subscription at any time, with no cancellation fee and no questions asked.

When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period — the date you were next due to renew. After that date, your account moves to the Free plan automatically, so you do not lose access to Motionhooks entirely. Your content, brand kit and account settings are preserved, so if you decide to resubscribe later everything is exactly as you left it.

For yearly plans, cancellation stops the automatic renewal at the end of the year. If you have questions about a recent annual charge, please contact us via the contact page and we will review it promptly.

You manage your subscription entirely within the account settings panel, under the billing section. There is a cancel button there — no phone call required, no need to email anyone first. The process takes about thirty seconds.

Data & security

Is my data safe?

Motionhooks takes data security seriously across every part of the platform.

Social media account connections use official OAuth flows — Motionhooks never sees or stores your social platform passwords. The access tokens that allow Motionhooks to publish on your behalf are stored encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.

Your account supports two-factor authentication (2FA), which we strongly recommend enabling. 2FA requires a second verification step at sign-in, so even if your password were compromised, your account stays protected.

Your uploaded photos, videos and generated content are stored on encrypted cloud storage. You own your content — Motionhooks does not use your photos, videos or scripts to train AI models, and we do not share your content with third parties.

If you want to leave, you can export all your content and data at any time from account settings. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data, which removes everything from our systems within 30 days.

The privacy policy at motionhooks.com/privacy explains in plain language what data is collected, how it is used, how long it is kept, and what your rights are.
